Reverend Michael A. Moore, Elder in the Global Methodist Church, was born and raised on the Southside of Jacksonville, Florida. He graduated from Englewood Senior High School in 1971 and went on to study at Florida Junior College, the University of Phoenix, and Duke Divinity School.
Before entering full-time ministry, Rev. Moore was the owner of Moore Products Counter Tops Manufacturing.
He later answered the call to pastoral ministry, serving faithfully for over 28 years—12 years at Good Shepherd of Jacksonville and 16years at First Methodist of Starke, Florida.
Rev. Moore has been married to his wife, Debbie, for 53 years. Together, they have two children, Michael Jason Moore and Gentry Danielle Hessmann, five grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
His leadership has extended beyond the local church. He has served as President of the Local Pastors for the Florida Annual Conference, on the District Trustees for the Jacksonville District, and as Chair of the District Committee on Ordained Ministry. He was also a member of the Board of Ordained Ministry for the Florida Annual Conference.
Throughout his ministry, Rev. Moore has been recognized for his service and dedication:
• Named United Methodist Lay Person of the Year
• Served as Duke Divinity School Class Representative
• Honored by the Boy Scouts of America at the Great Values Dinner as Man of the Year in Starke, Florida
• Awarded a Proclamation by the Mayor of Starke, declaring June 2 as “Pastor Mike Day”
