Greetings Lakewood Family,

I want to invite you to join me in our special fall series called The Gospels. This is an opportunity for all of us to journey together for the next three months through God’s Word by reading one chapter a day in the Gospels and following along with the Wake-Up Call daily devotional with Pastor J.D. Walt. Pastor Walt is a gifted teacher of God’s Word, and the Wake-Up Call will reflect on the assigned chapter in the Reading Plan each day.

For the past three months. I’ve made it a practice to listen to or read the Wake-Up Call daily, and it has greatly encouraged and strengthened my relationship with the Lord.

If you’re not sure yet, let me encourage you to check out the first episode from Monday—it was excellent and I believe it will bless you.

Here’s a teaser:

What if I told you the first seventeen verses of Matthew—the first Gospel account listed in our Bibles—are the most important verses in the Gospel, indeed the whole Bible? Would you believe me? So here’s my challenge to our church family: for the next three months, let’s do these two things each day together:

  1. Follow the Reading Plan of one chapter a day in the Gospels.
  2. Read or listen to the Wake-Up Call podcast on your favorite listening platform (it’s FREE).

It’s not too late to join in—we’ve just started, and this is the perfect time to jump in!

Let’s walk through the Gospels together and let the Word of God draw us deeper into the love of Jesus Christ.
